14 years ago on May 9,2003 I remember I was waiting impatiently for my amazing gift. I was so nervous, excited, and super anxious because my present was a big one. That gift was my baby sister Ashley! She was finally born yet I still could not believe it because for me she was a miracle. You see I was the only child and before my sister my mother unfortunately had a miscarriage so at that point on I was just a sad little girl. I was always jealous that everyone around me had siblings, but I was the only one that was literally alone.
The day my sister was born it was a whole new world, and experience for me. I did not know if I was going to be the best big sister in this world, and I was scared that I would not do a good job. Today when I woke up, I realized that I did a good job because my baby girl is growing up to an amazing young lady. I am so proud of her because she is the type of girl that will never give up. So far she is a straight A student, talented, loves sports, super creative, respectful, loving, never lets anyone bully her, and last but not least she loves God and always puts the Lord first in everything she does.
There are days where we fight so much, and I would want to smack her from time to time lol but I would not have it any other way. I do not understand though how some people do not value their siblings, and treat them like they are not valuable. No matter how the sibling is we all need to keep in mind that they are a gift for us. I mean who else can we trust, love, fight, and have an understandable conversation without judging us if its not them? I am always grateful that I have her in my life even though she gets me to my last nerve.
A fun fact about her birthday, is that it is also my grandpas birthday! Sometimes she gets annoyed because she feels that if it was not for grandpa then the family would not remember her day lol! To be honest, I never remembered grandpas birthday till the day she was born. It is hilarious how they both call each other, and they say at the sametime: “Well…you are more older then yesterday so Happy Birthday twin!” There is always something new as each year passes by with these two unique people lol!
Today I woke her up with a serenade, remembering the day she was born, she went to school, but after I took her out to eat at the buffet which she loved it so much. As the day ends, she has no idea what is waiting for her because we usually celebrate birthdays for a week straight. Anyways, that is the event of today and I hope all of you liked it. Also, make sure to love your brother or sister because at the end of the day they are the only ones who have your back unconditionally.
Do you remember when your sibling was born? How did you feel? I would like to know if any of you share the same experience as me! I hope all of you are having an amazing day. God bless you all and if you have a question about any topic remember that I am just…one…click…away.
